U.S. shopping habits are shifting with the season. We analyzed month-over-month sales from thousands of Shopify merchants to identify June’s trending products. At the top of the list are paddleball sets and sunflowers. Here’s what caught our attention: → Outdoor activities are gaining popularity, highlighted by a 904% increase in paddleball sets. Demand also surged for roller skates (+640%), bocce ball sets (+377%), and kick scooters (+235%). → As summer heats up, consumers are purchasing beach and pool products. Beach bag sales are up 251%, followed by bikinis (+222%), pool noodles (+167%), and one-piece swimsuits (+120%). → Golfers are investing in accessories, including golf bag covers & cases (+94%), golf gloves (+41%), and golf clubs (+33%). → With the Fourth of July approaching, consumers are stocking up on festive foods and decorations, including pie & pastry fillings (+284%), vegetable dips (+200%), picnic blankets (+198%) and grill toppers (109%). As algorithms curate our experiences and screens connect us, brick-and-mortar retail is still an irreplaceable force. The thrill of hands-on discovery can’t be digitized—just look at the data. → In 2024, merchants with physical retail stores generated an average of 81% of their total sales in person, up 7% from 2023. → Retail-curious entrepreneurs sold their products through craft fairs, holiday markets, and farmers’ markets (22%), while 17% opted for pop-up shops to bridge the digital-physical divide. → Merchants using Shopify POS drove a 23% year-over-year jump in offline sales in Q1 2025, leveraging physical spaces to amplify—not replace—digital communities. Shopify Payments now supports USDC stablecoin payments. We’re partnering with Coinbase and Stripe to enable merchants to accept USDC on Base, right at checkout. Customers can pay using hundreds of supported crypto wallets, while merchants receive payouts in their local currency or directly to their crypto wallets. There are no foreign exchange fees or additional apps or gateways required—just fast, secure payments from USDC holders around the world.

Books, camping, cooking, and the outdoors were top of mind for U.S. consumers this May. We analyzed month-over-month sales from thousands of Shopify merchants to reveal May's emerging trends. Here’s what stood out: → Bookworms are expanding their collections, with modular bookcases and shelves up 232%. Demand for stationery items also rose: pocket notebooks (+60%), scrapbooking kits (+45%), and journals (+32%). → Outdoor enthusiasts are getting ready for camping season, with demand surging for group tents (+438%), camping cookware (+86%), cots (+82%), and hiking poles (+75%). → Home cooks are diving into new culinary projects, driving strong sales growth in kitchen appliances and baking supplies, including breadmakers (533%), pizza pans (+115%), and casserole dishes (+79%). → Consumers are investing in their outdoor spaces as the weather warms up. Landscaping plants increased 260%, while garden sculptures (+206%), swing chairs (+171%), and outdoor misting systems (+124%) also saw gains. Entrepreneurs, what trends are you noticing this spring?
